Mar. 17th, 2010 09:58 pm- Nicholas Brendon tasered and arrested for acting 'drunk and disorderly' I can't be the only one whose first thought upon hearing the news was "Noo, Xander! You don't have to turn into HorribleFuture!Xander from Hell's Bells! You can still break the circle!
- I'm still not quite sure how I feel about Lady Gaga and Beyonce's Telephone video. I appreciate all the pop culture references, the sleekness of the production and the standard Gaga wackiness, but the I felt the product placement beyond jarring, and I might have cringed at all the spoken parts, especially between her and Beyonce. Also? I don't care for the song. Out of the album, that's one I always end up skipping. I can sort of see where they were going with this, but the result is hit and miss. It's still nice to see a music video release be an 'event' again though-feels like that hasn't happened since the early nineties. You know, back in the olden days, when MTV still played music.
- Being perpetually late to the party, I finally got into White Collar. I might comment in more detail at a later post, but let's just say it was surprisingly better than I thought. Not a lot in the way of substance, sure, but the show itself is aware of that, and just runs with the absurdity of the plots while having fun with it.
- Seriously, fandom? The feedback discussion AGAIN? This is the meta discussion that never ends-I've lost count of the variations of it I've heard over the years, and I've only been in lj fandom since 2002. All of this has happened before, etc. You would think that people would get clued in that if it hasn't been resolved by now, it never will-because the concept of fannish consensus is about as absurd as a demure Lady Gaga video.
