Why must you suck so hard, Amazon?
Apr. 13th, 2009 01:03 amBy now, most of you have probably head about Amazon removing the sales ranking of all LGBT books (later expanding to include any books dealing with sexuality), but in case you haven’t, here are some links:
Amazon removes sales ranking of LGBT books
A constantly growing list the books excluded (WTF, Vito Russo’s The Celluloid Closet is there. I read it at Uni, and leaving aside how very far from ‘adult’ it is –if anything, its dry style makes it a bit dull-, it’s kind of ironic that a book about the treatment of gay characters in Hollywood and invisibility issues is among those getting ‘disappeared’).

Amazon Rank
In other news, I know I haven’t been around lately, but I’ve been so overwhelmed with RL (mostly studying with a side of work getting on my nerves) this weekend is literally the first chance I got to catch a breath (and be reminded of how the Internet is seldom relaxing these days). I really wanted to post my reaction to Dollhouse…I can only hope I find time to make a post before the inevitable cancellation.

*sigh*
Have they scheduled the test yet? Has your mum been visiting? I hope all is well!

Date: 2009-04-12 11:08 pm (UTC)My mum just left a couple of days ago-she was here for two weeks. And no, they haven't scheduled the test yet. Some rumours about it (the announcement) coming up with month, but some other rumours are that the test could be as far September. The waiting's kind of killing me, to be honest.
Btw, I got the comic books! I meant to post on FOV this weekend and catch with you all, but I spent much of the unexpected free time...sleeping, actually. And watching the latest Dollhouse (I'm lazy!).

Date: 2009-04-13 11:07 am (UTC)Even on the even more rage-inducing front, a search on 'homosexuality' on Amazon now only turns up 'cure homosexuality' books. I just...what the HELL?
