-I’m trying to talk myself out of buying a paid DW account for a few more months, if only because my PERMANENT IJ account currently gathering dust has taught me not to rush into those things. But…icons!

-Does anybody the approximate date for Merlin S2? I’m going through shiny teevee withdrawal.

-Two memes in a row might be bad form, but what the hell:

Everyone has things they blog about. Everyone has things they don't blog about. Challenge me out of my comfort zone by telling me something I don't blog about, but you'd like to hear about, and I'll write a post or comment about it. Ask for anything: latest movie watched, last book read, religious leanings, thoughts on yaoi, favorite type of underwear, graphic techniques, hairstyles, sports, etc.

Gen
A New Day by [livejournal.com profile] kodiak_bear Summary: After Jim tells Bones to 'Buckle Up', where'd they go first? This is that mission. I didn’t realize how much I craved some general adventure fic before reading this. Engrossing, with elements of horror and humour mixed in and great portrayals of the crew-a must read.

A delightful and funny series of ficlets by [livejournal.com profile] chaletian showing life on the ship after the movie from various character’s perspective: It Takes A Village, Birds Do It, Bees Do It, Even Post-Pubescent Russians Do It , Faites Vos Jeux // Rien Ne Va Plus and This Story Is Not Humorous .

Things Unsaid by [livejournal.com profile] idea_of_sarcasm Summary: Four times Spock couldn't say 'I love you', one time he tried (and one time he did) Despite the summary and the fact it contains Spock/Uhura, I’m filing this under ‘gen’ as it is so much more than shippy fic. It’ll break your heart in the best way.

Spock/Uhura

A Series of Educational Experiences by [livejournal.com profile] mekosuchinae Excerpt: His studies are insufficient to prepare him for the reality. Spock adjusting to leaving among humans, and how a certain perception shift among him might have come to be.

in her aspect and her eyes by [livejournal.com profile] liviapenn Summary: Elementary logic leads to an obvious conclusion. Absolutely excellent Spock/Uhura pre-relationship interaction, with what is implied as present as what is actually said and a fantastic Spock voice.

Vids:
Stuck to You by [livejournal.com profile] giandujakiss Kirk/Spock/Uhura Fun, energetic, flawlessly edited, I simply can’t stop watching this over and over. Fandom clearly needs more vids and fic of this OT3.

We Go Together by [livejournal.com profile] such_heights It’s Grease meets Trek. And it really, really WORKS. Something about the movie seems to be bringing out unapologetic expressions of fannish love from vidders/writers, and I LOVE it!

BSG (aka, Not A Trek Rec)

The name of this story is your name by [livejournal.com profile] beccatoria FINALE SPOILERS Summary: What if Caprica didn't actually die. Ever. This story is all kinds of epic. Chilling, original, absolutely engrossing…I don’t think I’ve ever read a BSG fic quite like this. Scratch that, I don’t think I’ve ever read a fanfic quite like this, period.

Merlin withdrawal? Ha. I thought you were too sucked into ST for that!

I'm severely temped to ask about your thoughts on yaoi. :P

I'm not even glimpsing at the BSG rec. It feels like you typed that FINALE SPOILERS just for me. ;)

So, have you overcome your spoiler fear or do I need to whiteout the BSG rec for you to check the ST ones? ;)

I read that BSG fic and wow... For some reason I read the summary completely wrong and I thought you meant the planet. There I was thinking I was going to read a happy AU where the Cylons never came and they all had a life and Caprica City was never destroyed, la la la... goes to say what I know.

What a fic... It killed me in a good way (left feedback too, of course)

Erm... yeah... the ST:IX, will attempt the gen for sure, I seem to have missed them. I mostly read Kirk/McCoy and McCoy/Chekov with the occasional Spock/McCoy lately (and I've discovered that I want Scotty/McCoy even though there's zero support for it in movie!canon but no one will write it!)

As for something you might want to blog about.... Religious leanings? You have those? If not, thoughts on underwear, I guess...

That BSG fic is as awesome as the show itself.

Ha, I kind of can't choose between the topics-I might try to tackle both when I do this (hopefully tomorrow).

Both? Like underwear and how it has influenced your religious leanings?
