I want to be a lot more eloquent and long-winded, but really, I just agree with it all! Ok, I have a bit of a soft spot for Gaius, so not quite your general not-so-fondness (though I agree with your reasoning), but everything else! Yes! Gaius talking to Arthur. Merlin's moment of not being able to look Arthur in the face, almost crying. Gwaine helping (and at least he needed a good deal of convincing to buy Agravaine's stupid explanation). Alator bowing. Gosh. So much good stuff.
P.S. Just noticed you have a typo: You accidentally said it was Alator who gave the knife to Merlin.
