-I wasn’t that crazy about last week’s episode, but this one was definitely a fun romp. Helped, in large part, by Gwaine’s outrageous hotness. I had to watch all his shirtless scenes twice, because I drifted off and missed the dialogue.

-And how did he manage to have chemistry with EVERYONE? It’s ridiculous. When he was hitting on Gwen all I could think was damn, that girl has serious self-control. Arthur who?

-In all seriousness though, while the plot wasn’t the most original (HA!), I enjoyed what they did with it. It helped that Gwaine had a different vibe than Lancelot-more the cynical thrill-seeker than an idealistic hero wannabe. Needless to say, I enjoyed Gwaine a lot more.

-Yet again, Merlin tries to dissuade Arthur from participating in a tournament, Arthur ignores him while sprouting off a speech about being an example to his people and yet again, someone oh-so-shockingly cheats with magic (why do they bother holding these things?). I’d cut down the jabs about Merlin’s stupidity, if I were him. Glass houses, stones, etc.

-Merlin was making serious googly eyes at Gwaine. Arthur and Gwen had mini-crushes on him too, but Merlin was composing freakin’ sonnets in his head. Isn’t funny how every handsome dark-haired stranger that walks into Camelot ends up in his bed?

-God, that episode broke me. I don’t even particularly like the kids, but I felt for everyone in that last scene. Dexter, losing another big piece of his humanity, poor little Cody who just wants to stay with Dexter, and Astor, being rightfully angry and devastated.

-MCH continues to blow my mind with his acting. As powerful as his meltdown last week was, he never looked so broken as he did watching the kids get into the car. And he told Astor he loved her-I can’t even begin to process how huge this is.

-Shut up Angel, this is Laguerta’s money. She probably should have mentioned it, but his hissyfit at being called irresponsible just confirmed the immaturity he tried to deny.

-I hate Quinn. I was never a fan, but there’s something about him this season that seriously grates, and I’m actually getting squicked by his pathetic come-ons to Deb.

-Poor Deb. She’s making such an effort to keep it together for Dexter, and it’s clearly taking a toll.

-Masuka’s evident disgust with Dexter’s job was very amusing. I’d pity him, except he regularly manages to gross everyone around him out, so like Deb, I was laughing at his karmic retribution.

-The whole bit with Dexter intensely focusing on the bloodstain on the truck was a much better illustration of his addiction than the entire S2 AA storyline. And taking the baby along for some very inappropriate father-son bonding time was hilarious, as was his version of a fairytale. That baby is going to be SO fucked-up.

-As much as I felt for Dexter losing the kids, I’ll be happy if that means he and Deb will continue living together. I’d missed the apartment, and will definitely NOT miss the suburbia images.
