Congrats on getting it right, Americans

...and after those last 8 years too. Must be quite the cognitive dissonance.

I know, right! I'm so giddy this morning.

It's one of those Darth Vader redemptions that I can't really feel because it's just too little too late, though. I keep muttering about how they honestly reelected Bush. I still cannot believe it!

But yes, it's quite exciting and very relieving! :D I just don't understand how they could reelect Bush...

I think I'll resist posting, but I have to comment on the total contrast of the reactions on my flist compared to the previous election. It was so overwhelmingly miserable last time and it's so ecstatic now. Hopefully Obama will live up to this euphoria. But he's young, he's got the energy and the right ideas, so I'm certain it will work out.

Go America! You deserve this, after Bush.

Yeah, I'm trying to be very realistic. He doesn't have to be perfect. He just has to try. So much better than Bush already.

No politician is ever perfect and I think he's got a hell of a lot of work ahead of him, there's almost a decade of Bush's bullshit that needs to be turned around. Scars don't heal that easily.

Personally, I think the euphoria is a little over-optimistic. It is a step in the right direction, but it's not a cure-all to the US' troubles.

it is almost like a miracle... I really thought this country was full of insano gun toting religious fanatics! And instead I find out that it is full of people like me: who want change, want equality, and want to embrace a new generation and a new way of finding solutions!

I really am excited about Obama's Presidency, I really think he can make a difference!

Of course anything at all will be an improvement over the last 8 years!
