Finished, so now I can read this! Agree with pretty much all the predictions. No way Jon is dead, imo, and what do these guys have direwolves for if they lock them up as soon as they warn them of danger? I trust Arya will not do this when she and Nymeria have their own awesome reunion!!

I'm surprised at Dany-hate in this book. I heard somebody saying how Dany just does stupid things throughout the book but I didn't see her being stupid at all. Sure she often wound up manipulated into a bad position, but it's not like I could ever figure out what she should have done. Even if her view of things wasn't always right (like she just assumed her husband wouldn't have any reason to poison her while Selmy thought he did) it was never *stupid.* Everybody can't be Tyrion, and even Tyrion wound up tossed into the dungeon. Maybe Littlefinger's a better example.

I've also heard plenty of people say that GRRM obviously hates Cersei and I didn't see that either. I think she's way realistic for who she is. And actually, I find her interesting the way she's the girl who thinks she'd have been a better son to her father and, unlike many other characters, simply isn't. And yeah, I don't think there's anything shallow in being embarassed by your physical defects when you're in Cersei's position. It's not like everyone else in the crowd wasn't picking on them. She lasted pretty long before breaking down.

And really, she got off easy with the punishment compared to Theon. ::shudder::

I like Davos too. Though I worry about his son who's the squire. I am no fan of R'Hllor. I'm looking forward to some serious Stark shapeshifting victory in future.
