The "there's something when he hears your voice" page is one of my favorite Charles/Erik bits.
The idea that Charles and Magneto have both become irrelevant and the future has chosen neither of them is like you said, both a bit vindicating and a bit sad. Especially when you think about them as young men in First Class, with all the passion, idealism (at least in Charles' case) and potential they had.
The scene with the students is scary/cute. Magneto: terrible dad but fun uncle?
I'm a bit worried about the Schism event; I hope it doesn't fracture the interesting and tentative friendship they currently have. But that thought path leads me to more "seriously, why is Scott still the leader, he is terrible in every way and Storm or Dani Moonstar should be leading instead and asdfghjkl;'" ranting and I should stop. XD
