I'm so pleased you got to see it! I've been an X-Men fan about as long as you have, and I loved the movie *so much*. The actors have been quite open about the fact that they were playing Charles and Erik as a Great Doomed Romance (Macavoy grew up watching the 1990s animated series) so I don't have any problems with the slash goggles there!

I can't see the end of this movie as The Breakup, though, just A Breakup.
