It's amazing what passes for "journalism" these days

Eerie links between Harry Potter, bin Laden

And it's not even April Fool's day.

One of the comments in the article:

Good to see room being made for the news that really matters, Reuters.

The world can now celebrate knowing that J.K. Rowling is a prophet.

I couldn't agree more. Really, Reuters? REALLY?

I'm not sure whether to facepalm or headdesk. Possibly both.

Also, Harry, "the anointed one"?! lol. He probably confused "anointed" and "chosen". And they don't even sound remotely close!

So in this scenario Harry (instead of being a small vulnerable school boy) is the President of the largest richest (not counting the debt of course... LOL) most powerful country on Earth...
and Deatheaters (instead of being pure bred wizards who hold most of the wizarding world's wealth) become a small band of religious fanatic misfits with shoe and underpants bombs.

Last night on the Jon Stewart/Stephen Colbert shows they were laughing that some Tea Party types think that the timing of taking down Osama bin Laden was to distract the press from Obama's questionable birth certificate (seriously). But THIS one seems to think it was to enhance ticket sales for Harry Potter & the Deathly Hallows pt 2.

yeah... right.

JK Rowling invented good vs. evil, obviously!

The funniest thing about this is that it's in Reuters!

I missed the "anointed" bit. Now I just have Head!Spike calling him The Annoying One.

I don't know, the Death Eaters could be really useless in the books too (taken down by schoolkids). Underpant bombs might be a step-up.

And I totally need to catch up on the Daily Show.

Since all the material in her books is 100% original, she MUST have!

I get most of my news from the Daily Show.
