I'm still in love with the story of her birth and how Zeus was terrified of her before she was born
You mean the story in which Zeus was so terrified that he made her mother fall asleep, ate her, got horrible headache afterwards, had his head cut with an axe and from that cut appeared Athena? Yep, it was a very interesting story, although I wouldn't say I'm in love with it. ;-) I was crazy about the Greek Mythology as a kid. I've read that big book at least 10 times and still remember a lot from it. Now, I wouldn't touch it if they paid me. ;-)
What I liked about Athena was the fact that she wasn't described as the biggest beauty as the rest of the goddesses, except for her blue eyes. Also, she's one of the few women in the mythology who's never slept with Zeus, and this is an achievement in itself. :-)
