I agree that Eric's 'plan' is right up there with "I'll leave your tied up over a shark pool, Mr Bond, of which there's no way to escape'. I don't like Russel, but I enjoyed him as a villain.
Like I said, I understand Joan's POV, but clearly the old ways are not working as well as they used to. Maybe she should consider somewhat adjusting her tactics.
